Extreme and Living Colour 1/27/2024

Atlantic City took a trip in time to the Mtv era of the 80’s as Extreme and Living Colour brought music of that period to the Tropicana Hotel and Casino.

Living Colour got the fans on their feet as they hit the stage first waving to and shaking hands with their fans. Going straight into the song “Middle Man,” then on to “Leave it Alone,” “Ignorance is Blessings” and more. There was no question the band started the show off in epic fashion.

Sticking mostly to the music of MTV favorites from their debut album Vivid. Then in a stunning tribute to the late Sinead O’Connor, the group played an outstanding cover of “Nothing Compares 2 U.” With singer Cory Glover attacking song after song with humor, powerful vocals and even running into the crowd, all while shaking hands and posing for selfies with concertgoers while singing “Cult of Personality.”

After a short break, Extreme took the stage and fired up the crowd like it was back in the 80’s. As the music was powering on, the vocals of Gary Cherone commanded the audience’s attention to the fullest. Cherone was at times like a tornado moving around the stage. While constantly snaking his way around the equipment, jumping off risers and even climbing up on the speakers on stage, Cherone made the fans go crazier with every move.

Playing through a powerful set list that included songs such as “Play with Me,” “Get the Funk Out,” “Hole Hearted” and of course “More Then Words.” The band’s 21 song set list was a masterful selection of outstanding music that had fans craving more.

As both bands brought their very best to the stage this night, no doubt the bands left everyone with an unforgettable memory of two of the best from the 80’s era.
