Reigning ACM and CMA Entertainer of the year and rising country music star Lainey Wilson brought her headlining “Country’s Cool Again” tour to the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey. Labeled as one of the country music world’s hardest-working artists, Wilson proved she was worthy of the Entertainer of the year titles with a show that had fans jumping, dancing, and screaming for the close to two hour show.
Starting off the night with two openers that twanged and fiddled though a solid lineup of songs, Zach Top opened the night with music that clearly had a ‘90s country flair to it. Ian Munsick then brought his high energy performance with lyrics of open rages, tumbleweeds and cattle to the stage as the night’s second act while honoring his Wyoming roots.
When the time came for Wilson to take the stage, it was extremely clear she was focused on showcasing why she was given the title of entertainer of the year with songs that had heart with a touch of edginess, a top level production and a down-to-earth personality mixed with high energy.
Appearing to the crowd on top of a red truck on center stage, Wilson jumped right into her song “Hang Tight Honey” all while the truck rotated with Wilson standing on top. Jumping off the truck and right into her next song “Straight Up Sideways” followed by “Smell Like Smoke,” the fans cheered her on while dressed up just like their idol. Wilson continued to power her way through a set list of hits like “Heart Like a Truck,” “Watermelon Moonshine” and ending the night with “Wildflowers and Wild Horses.”
On this night, Wilson stood tall. Clearly showing why she earned her entertainer titles, and with a huge smile the whole time. Lainey Wilson without question proved she is for real and will most likely be a titan in country music in no time.
