Dogstar is an alternative rock band formed in 1991 in Los Angeles, California. The trio consists of Bret Domrose (vocals & guitar), Keanu Reeves (bass & backing vocals) and Robert Mailhouse (drums & backing vocals).
After almost a two decade hiatus, Dogstar returned to the scene. On October 6, 2023, the band released their third studio album Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees.
On August 17, 2024, the Los Angeles rockers made their way to the beautiful Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Dogstar brought along California indie rock band, Archer Oh as direct support.
After s short set from opener Archer Oh, it was time for Dogstar to take the stage. With a very dim lit stage, Bret, Keanu and Robert arrived. The band played for an hour and 15 minutes and personally don’t think they have ever sounded better. For those 75 minutes I was taken back to my high school days.
Seeing this show reminded me you don’t have to have a huge production when you tour. Dogstar just comes out and performs a great rock show.
