We are told very often not to spend too much time “thinking about the past.” Well, this night was all about not only thinking about the past but reliving it as well. Without a question, the ‘90s were an incredible time for bands and music fans. The bands were enjoying great success with videos on MTV and selling millions of CDs and much more. Therefore, it was no surprise that three of the biggest bands from the ‘90s would hit the road together for the ‘Loaded: Greatest Hits Tour.’
So, when British rockers Bush joined by Alice In Chains founder and guitarist Jerry Cantrell along with Candlebox rolled into the Etess Arena at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, the excitement & anticipation was evident.
Opening the night for the three megastar bands was London based Bones UK. An interesting trio consisting of guitarist/vocalist Rosie Bones, guitarist Carmen Vandenberg and drummer Heavy. A solid all female band definitely worth checking out.

As lights dimmed for the next act, fans erupted in a roar as the unmistakable voice of Kevin Martin signified that Candlebox was currently in charge. Despite the band doing a shorter set, fans did not seem to mind as the music sounded just like it did over 30 years ago. Fans rejoiced in their music of their youth as the band closed out with two of their most recognizable songs “Far Behind” and “You.”

Up next was one the best guitarists of the 1990’s, the iconic Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains. As fans jumped to their feet and cheered, Cantrell gave fans one of the most anticipated sets of the night, while delivering a soundtrack of crushing melodies from Degradation Trip to the memorable smash hits of Alice In Chains. It did not matter if the song was new or old, everyone in attendance was going crazy with every note masterfully played as Jerry continued to close out his incredible set with two of Alice In Chains most well- known songs, “Would?” and “Rooster.”

Headliners Bush took the stage to an extraordinary light show as drummer Nik Hughes thundered away on his drums while everyone let out thunderous screams of approval. As lead singer Gavin Rossdale started the first song “Everything Zen,” the crowd lost their minds and even more so when the next song “Machine Head” started up. With a truly unforgettable set, Bush showed they are still on top the entire night. But Bush made the night even more memorable by having Jerry Cantrell join them on stage to a remarkable performance of “Comedown.”

This shows was definitely a celebration of the great music of the 1990’s. While reminiscing about your childhood memories or making new memories with your own kids, this tour helps you forget the outside world even if just for a few hours. Just celebrate the incredible night of music.
