On a breezy spring night in Fairmount Park, Teddy Swims turned The Mann Center for the Performing Arts into a sanctuary of soul, grit, heartbreak, and joy. With a setlist that stretched across genres and emotional depths, the Atlanta-born powerhouse proved exactly why his live shows are more than concerts—they’re full-body experiences.
From the moment he opened with “Not Your Man”, Teddy commanded the stage with his signature blend of southern charm and gut-punch vocal power. What followed was a tightly crafted, 24-song set that never once lost momentum or sincerity.
“Hammer to the Heart” and “Apple Juice” set the early tone, showcasing both his band’s crisp musicianship and Teddy’s effortless ability to glide between smoky vulnerability and full-blown soul shout. By the time he launched into “She Loves the Rain”, the audience had already surrendered themselves fully.
Swims wasn’t alone in making the night feel special. He brought out Devin Velez for a stunning duet on “Are You Even Real”, trading verses and harmonies that soared into the Philadelphia sky. Later, Jemila Richardson joined him for “Black & White”, and their chemistry lit the stage on fire. The night’s biggest surprise, however, came during the encore when Olivia Kuper Harris took the stage for “Bed on Fire”—a showstopper in every sense.
Teddy balanced big crowd moments with more tender, introspective turns. Songs like “Funeral,” “Bad Dreams,” and “What More Can I Say” hit especially hard, with the crowd often going quiet as if afraid to interrupt the emotion.
There were also lighter, celebratory moments. “Your Kind of Crazy” and the chart-smashing “Lose Control” had the entire Mann on its feet, dancing and screaming lyrics back with full force. And of course, the soulful cover of Shania Twain’s “You’re Still the One” landed like a nostalgic slow dance between old friends.
